Why Water Is Important For Health

Today, I read again the book with the title Healing Waters by Dr Ben Johnson and find that I would like to share some helpful information and is so important that people should know about it. Of course, there are a lot more of educational information in the book and you will definitely want to go ahead and get a copy.

Here are some useful and helpful information I read about water.

It’s no secret that drinking water is essential for good health. Our body is  more than 70% water and we do not want to deprive of it so as to avoid constant fatigue.

water imageWater is the main substance and source of life, possessing a number of properties that make it integral to your body’s function and performance. It acts as natural cleanser , body’s primary solvent, dissolving vital substances so that your cells can absorb them.

Water is also responsible for powering your cells, literally generating electrical and magnetic energy inside each and every of your trillions of cells’ mitochondria. It serves as the cells’ primary bonding agent, enabling them to maintain their proper structure. This function is crucial for cellular maintenance, since a loss of structural integrity can eventually lead to disease. For instance, damaged DNA which is contained in the nucleus of nearly every cell in your body can cause abnormal cell behavior. Health experts have discovered, cellular abnormalities are a known cause of cancer and other serious medical conditions.

But with adequate water, your cells are able to rid themselves of harmful toxins and strengthen the body’s ability to ward off diseases.

Water helps in proper functioning of our body and aids in many ways in the following :

  • Elimination of waste products (via urination)
  • Immune Function
  • Joint Lubrication
  • Liver and Kidney Function
  • Lymphatic Function
  • Muscle Function
  • Production of Hormones and neurotransmitters
  • Regulation of Body Temperature (via perspiration)
  • Respiration
  • Skin Maintenance


Dr Batmanghelidj conducting research on water and concluded not only that many serious health problems are caused by water deficit , but also that such problems can be remedied simply by drinking more water. He also went on to discover the potency of water in treating number of conditions, including :

  • Addictive urges related to alcohol, caffeine and various drugs
  • Anxiety, depression and stress
  • Arthritis
  • Ashma
  • Back, joint and muscle pain
  • Blood clot
  • Constipation and diarrhea
  • Edema
  • Fatigue
  • Gastrointestinal problems
  • Glaucoma
  • High blood pressure
  • Kidney stones

As Dr Batmanghelidj recognized, water deficits produce several symptoms that are seemingly unrelated to a low water supply. In addition to chronic pain, symptoms that also may arise include acne, digestive problems, dry skin and eyes, fatigue, headaches, irritability, muscle soreness and sinus pressure, among others.

The best way to prevent such symptoms is to drink water throughout the day, but dehydration may still occur depending on certain factors such as diet, climate, illness, and level of physical activity.

So, start drinking sufficient water everyday !!!
